Question by Joe: Do you need a special computer to play games on it?
I want to play games like Fallout 3, but i need to know if I need to get a new computer. I also have an older dell computer.
Answer by Tyson
It depends on the specs of your computer.
Main components to determine if your computer is able to support the game are:
Graphics card (GPU)
Hard drive space
You will need to right click “My Computer” and go to properties. There should be a list of your CPU and RAM on there.
After that, click the “Hardware” tab and then click “Device Manager” and it should be under “Display Adapters” for what your GPU is.
Double click “My Computer” and it should tell you your hard drive space.
Go to google.com and search up Fallout 3 requirement specs, and you should find a link to tell you what you would need. If your computer doesn’t meet the recommended specs, it would mean you will need a better computer.
In response to the other poster:
He is actually wrong, new CHEAP computers, usually non-gaming computers like office ones, use integrated video (graphics) cards and they don’t support gaming at all. You would be lucky to play a game like Fallout 3 on it at the lowest settings without any lag. The reason why they are cheap is because integrated video cards are cheap; allowing non gaming users to buy affordable computers.
